今年の男子シングルス世界一位はロジャー・フェデラーでした。

テニスのウィンブルドン選手権最終日は５日、当地のオールイングランド・クラブで男子シングルス決勝を行い、
ロジャー・フェデラー（スイス）がアンディ・ロディック（米国）を５－７、７－６、７－６、３－６、１６－１４のフルセットの末破り、２年ぶり６度目の優勝を果たした。
フェデラーは４大大会通算優勝回数を１５とし、ピート・サンプラス（米国）を抜いて歴代単独最多となった。
ウィンブルドン決勝での２人の対戦は０４、０５年以来３度目。
初優勝を狙ったロディックは０３年全米オープン以来、４大大会２度目の優勝はならなかった。
