今朝は、今週末に決勝戦があるF1モナコ・グランプリにちなみまして、過去のF1モナコグランプリの名シーンと少し楽しい動画の特集をお届けします。
【F1-モナコグランプリ概要 】
1929年から開催され、1938年から1947年の間、第二次世界大戦の勃発により中断された時期を除き毎年開催されてきた、F1のイメージリーダーともいえる名物レースである。例年、レースウィークにはモナコ大公主催のパーティが開かれ、ドライバーやチーム関係者をはじめ、世界中のセレブリティが参加する。
また、通常のレースウィークと異なり木曜日にフリー走行が行われ、金曜日は公道が開放される。インディ500、ル・マン24時間レースと並び「世界3大レース」の1つに数えられ、F1グランプリではイギリスGP、イタリアGP等と並んで最も伝統のあるグランプリである。
自動車に限らずレースの世界で競技終了を知らせる旗、チェッカーフラッグの起源となったレースである。ただし、現在のように市松模様は細かくなく、旗を4つ割にして白・黒の模様に染めたものであった。

Another tough track to pass on, the most position changes taking place through accidents or retirements. A lot of close racing and lead changes eventually ended under yellow with last years champion and Monaco winner SnakeOil taking the top podium position.
Immediately before WWII,GP scenes dominated by Mercedes Benz. W125 was the most succesful machine, a brilliant performance was shown by Ace driver Rudi Caracciora. Only Autounion P-Wargen(TypeD) or fantastic great Italian driver Tazio Nuvorali registed the Silver Arrow. The battle between Caracciola & Nuvorali is similar to Senna & Mansell in 1992. The last Formula 1 race at Monaco with a field of V10 engines was the one to watch and hear. Kimi Raikkonen was consistently in the 1:15s, and drove away from the field easily qualifying earlier P1.
