【ちょっと解説です】
ジロ・デ・イタリア（Giro d'Italia）とは毎年5月にイタリア全土を舞台にして行われる自転車プロロードレースである。1909年から開催されている。主催はイタリアのスポーツ紙『ガゼッタ・デロ・スポルト』等を発行するメディアグループ・RCSの関連会社であるRCSスポーツ社。
「d'Italia」は「di Italia」の結合形であること、「デ」と発音される前置詞がイタリア語に存在しないことなどから「ジロ・ディ・イタリア」または「ジロ・ディタリア」という表記も見られる。通称は「ジロ」。
