‘０９年のエタップ・ド・ツールは･･･こんな感じだそうです。
最終決戦の舞台となるプロバンスのモンバントゥーを決戦の舞台とするそうです。
９０００人を超える一般サイクリストが、ツール・ド・フランスの1ステージを走る人気イベント「エタップ・デュ・ツール」 １７回目の開催となる２００９年は７月２０日にモンテリマール～モンバントゥー間１７２ｋｍで開催される。本番のツール・ド・フランスでは最終日前日の第20ステージとなり、最終決戦の大舞台とされるそうです。

決戦の舞台は・・・・『魔の山モンバントゥー』
プロバンスにあるモンバントゥーは、ピレネーにもアルプスにも属さない標高1912mの独立峰だが、有名な伝説が生まれた場所として人々の記憶に残っている霊峰です。昆虫学者のファーブルが生涯30回も登ったという山岳は、セミ時雨があふれるプロバンス地方にあって特異な景観と異様な雰囲気に満ちあふれています。
森林限界でもないのに草木が朽ちて、直径30cmほどの白い瓦礫が白骨のように敷き詰められる。地中海から吹きつける季節風ミストラルが、斜面を駆け上がるうちに体の芯まで凍らせる冷気に豹変し、真冬は豪雪地帯となります。
測候所の塔がそびえる頂上より2kmほど下ったところに１つの墓石があります。
「トム・シンプソン。オリンピックメダリスト、世界チャンピオン。67ツール・ド・フランス、７月13日、ここに死す」。かつてレース中に昏睡したイギリスのスーパースターが命を落としたところなのです。 その悲劇以来、この山岳は名だたるプロ選手も畏怖する存在となりました。70年には「人食い鬼」と呼ばれるほどの強さを誇ったエディ・メルクスが、宿敵プリドールの猛攻撃で窮地に陥った際に、ゴール手前のシンプソンの墓を通過するときに脱帽したことが話題となりました。また2000年にはランス・アームストロングがマルコ・パンターニと接戦を繰り広げ、最後は区間勝利をパンターニに「プレゼント」したことで物議をかもし出しました。02年には山岳王のリシャール・ビランクが独走勝利した名峰と言える場所です。

This is a short film of my dad i made when we went to Mont Ventoux. It was filmed on a tiny still photo digital camera, out of a car window at 80kmph and as a result I'm quite happy with how it turned out. I edited on Sony Vegas Pro 8.0, a very good editing program. Après avoir collectionné les places d'honneur et les attaques mal récompensées, Sylvain Chavanel remporte à Montluçon sa première étape sur le Tour de France. Selon un scénario qui l'a souvent desservi, le leader de la formation Cofidis s'est lancé dans une échappée au long cours avec Jérémy Roy. La victoire s'est jouée dans le dernier kilomètre de course, dans un duel franco-français que Sylvain Chavanel a su parfaitement manœuvrer.
