【新城選手、先週のダメージは最小限で別府選手は弱気な発言があったとか・・・】
ツール・ド・フランス第６ステージ（９日、スペイン）健闘を続けていた新城選手がアクシデントに見舞われたのは、ゴール前９キロ地点でした。前方の３、４人が落車した影響もあり、ぬれたカーブでスリップし、激しく地面にたたきつけられた・・・。それでも自転車は無傷・・・。新城自身も軽い擦り傷を負った程度でレースを再開しました。総合１５２位に順位を落としたが、ダメージはさほど大きくない様子。レース後は「けがはない。大丈夫です」と短い言葉を残し、チームバスに乗り込んだそうです。 体調不良に苦しんだ別府選手は、集団内での位置取りに失敗し、序盤から大きく出遅れた。そのまま後方で苦しいレースを続け、このステージ１７３位。巻き返しに向けても「おなかの調子が少し悪いから、あしたもどんな走りができるか分からない」と弱気だったそうです。

2 July 2009 When Lance Armstrong appeared, people booed and many of them started to leave. He is still " The Cheater " for them. But as I wrote in the comment, the majority of the audience did NOT express against him. (I don't know if they were pro or anti Armstrong, though. I would say more than half were "PRO"Armstrong.)
