それを今回は圧倒的に上回るパワーと技術で進化を遂げたと言われています。

【ポルシェ 911ターボ が500psへ進化する0-100km/hを3.4秒、MAXは312km/hと圧倒的なパワー】
西ドイツ、ポルシェは7日、『911ターボ』のマイナーチェンジモデルを発表しました。ツインターボエンジンは、排気量を3.6リットルから3.8リットルへ拡大し、最大出力500psを獲得しました。0-100km/h加速3.4秒、最高速312km/hという世界最高峰の性能を手に入れた事になります。
今回、ポルシェは911ターボの第7世代、35年の歴史において、初めてエンジンを直噴化しました。「カレラS」などの直噴3.8リットル水平対向6気筒をベースに、可変タービンジオメトリー付きツインターボを追加装備した格好です。すなわちマイナーチェンジとは言えども全く別の車と考えた方が良いかも知れません。
最大出力は500ps/6000rpm、最大トルクは66.3kgm/1950 - 5000rpmと、旧3.6リットルよりも20ps、3.1kgmのパワーアップを果たしました。「スポーツクロノパッケージ」のオーバーブーストモードでは、最大トルクは71.4kgm/2100 - 4000rpmとなります。ボディの軽量化の効果もあり、0-100km/h加速は0.3秒短縮して3.4秒、最高速度312km/h（3.6リットルと同じ）という、世界トップクラスの性能を実現しました。
直噴化は環境性能の向上にも貢献しています。CO2排出量は旧3.6リットルよりも約18％削減し、欧州複合モード燃費は8.55 - 8.77km/リットルを達成しています。
トランスミッションは、5速ATに代わるパドルシフト付きの7速2ペダルMT「PDK」と6速MTの２タイプ。PDKにオプションの「スポーツクロノパッケージ」では、ローンチコントロールを可能にするとともに、オーバーブースト機能が付く「スポーツ/スポーツプラス」の2モードが選択できます。
駆動方式はPTM（ポルシェ・トラクション・マネージメント）を備えた電子制御フルタイム4WD。PSM（ポルシェ・スタビリティ・マネージメント）に加え、新開発のPTV（ポルシェ・トルク・ベクトリング）をオプション設定し、正確なハンドリングと高レベルのドライビングプレジャーを追求しています。
新しい911ターボは、9月のフランクフルトモーターショーで正式発表後、ドイツでは11月21日から販売開始。日本では8月22日からオーダー受付がスタートします。クーペとカブリオレの2ボディが用意されており、価格はクーペが1976万 - 2051万円、カブリオレが2230万円の設定になっています。
ポルシェが今回のマイナーチェンジで、最も意識したのは日産『GT-R』だと言われています。新しい911ターボは、日産GT-Rの0-100km/h加速3.5秒、最高速310km/h（リミッター解除時）を上回っており、両車のバトルが再燃するきっかけの１台になるかも知れません。
この車は恐らく今の市販車の中で最も誰でもがスーパースポーツの世界を味わう事の出来る一台と言えると思います。
